Our Story

Beginnings

Founded in 2006, Shalifay invested the partners' capital in a variety of equity and equity derivative strategies. In 2011, the company transitioned to residential real estate investments.

In 2012, Shalifay launched Investment Frontier, which quickly became the premier website for information on Frontier Markets, covered in over 50 international publications.

In 2014, Shalifay made its first seed-level investment in a company that has attracted major investors such as Greylock Partners.

Investment Streams

What We Do

Shalifay has three investment streams, each driven by deep domain expertise and a long-term orientation.

Residential Real Estate

Shalifay invests in 1-4 unit properties across North America. A core focus is the Midwest, targeting 12% cap rates on an unlevered basis. We have executed on multiple fix-and-rent properties and are generally long-term investors.

Seed Investments

We invest in businesses at the seed and pre-seed stage, with typical investment sizes of $25,000 to $250,000. Our focus is on FinTech and SaaS, but we are always open to hearing an interesting pitch.

Frontier Markets

We have spent our career focused on Frontier Markets and it excites us like few other things. When we get the opportunity to invest in markets that are nascent and there is some social good, we get very excited.
